Cessna Citation CJ4 project was announced in 2006. In 2008 flight test program started. Cessna CJ4 was certified in FAA in the USA in 2010 and next year passed certification in Europe. First deliveries began in 2010.

Lavatory room is situated at the rear part of the private jet, as also baggage compartment and wardrobe for passenger’s clothes and small items. Baggage compartment is separated from passenger cabin and has no access during the flight.

Cessna CJ4 has new shape wings if compared to Cessna CJ3+ and new engines Williams International, model FJ44-4А. Engines provide more takeoff thrust and have better overall performance that made possible to increase cruise speed up to 835 kilometers per hour. Such cruise speed is close to private jets of higher class. Most parts of airframe and body are made of aluminum alloys and use of composite materials is limited to some body panels, for example, aerodynamic fairing and landing gear door.
